How do I enroll my child at LCPCS?

LCPCS is a Pre-K through 12th grade public charter school. The following educational programs are available to eligible students:
     - LCPCS (brick-and-mortar campus) K – 12 accredited educational program.
     - Kaupe`a, Virtual Learning Program, for students in grades K-8 (Hawaii Island only). For more information about the Kaupe'a Program, please visit the Kaupe'a: Virtual Learning Program page.
     - Pre-K program is tuition-free and open to 3 and 4 year olds.

There is an annual fee for 6th - 12th graders of $17 that goes toward Student Body Government activities and to their class account. Please contact the school for additional information.


For our campus-based program...

The Early Enrollment period is from January 1 - February 15. This time period allows families who live outside the Laupahoehoe school district to apply for space. 

Open Enrollment begins on March 1st and ends on May 31st. This is typically when families register their child for kindergarten. Kindergarten is now mandatory in the State of Hawai'i. Children must be 5 years old by July 31st to enroll for the upcoming school year.

Be sure to bring the following information with you when you enroll your child:

  1. A copy of the child’s birth certificate (state or foreign), hospital or baptismal record
  2. Your child’s immunization record
  3. A daytime emergency telephone number
  4. Proof of a recent TB test done in Hawaii
  5. Former school address and a recent report card

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
Prior to admission, students entering school in Hawaii for the first time must complete the following health requirements, set by the Department of Health:

  • Tuberculin Test- recently administered in Hawaii
  • Health & Immunization* Record
  • Physical Examination

Additionally, all incoming 7th graders must have:

  • Hepatitis B vaccination 
  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) 
  • Chickenpox immunization

TRANSFER STUDENTS
Students transferring from other schools must present a certificate of release, health and immunization records, a current report card and/or any other school records.
