First Tuesday of each month

Purpose and Meeting Focus:
The Governance Committee is responsible for maintaining strong and effective governance practices at LCPCS. Key areas of focus include:
Reviewing and refining the Governing Boardâs policies and procedures
Supporting the implementation of the Policy Governance model
Coordinating board member training and development
Recruiting and recommending new board members when vacancies arise
Ensuring board performance aligns with best practices in nonprofit governance
About Policy Governance at LCPCS:
LCPCS follows a policy governance model, which clearly separates the roles of governance and management. The Governance Committee plays a critical role in upholding this model by:
Ensuring that Board policies (Ends and Executive Limitations) are current, effective, and aligned with the schoolâs mission
Monitoring the Boardâs adherence to its own governance processes
Evaluating the structure and function of board committees
Supporting the Executive Directorâs accountability through structured policy monitoring
This model allows the Board to govern with integrity and focus on long-term vision, while empowering the Executive Director to lead day-to-day operations.
