Kaupeʻa

Program Overview

·         WHAT is it?

o       A virtual learning program offered by Laupāhoehoe Community Public Charter School (LCPCS). The program provides an opportunity for students to learn from home with the support of the Kaupeʻa staff and the program’s partner, Harmony Education.

o       A variety of curriculum choices allow students to receive a customized learning experience.

o       Students have the opportunity to participate in regularly scheduled Options Days, elective classes designed to complement the at-home learning experience and academic plan.

·         WHO is eligible?

o       Elementary

§         Kaupeʻa is open to all school-age children in grades K-5 on Hawaiʻi Island and Maui

o       Middle School

§         Kaupeʻa is open to incoming students entering grades 6-8 on Hawaiʻi Island and Maui

o       High School

§         Kaupeʻa is open on Hawaiʻi Island only to incoming 9th and 10th graders.

·         WHEN is the enrollment deadline?

o       Grades K-8: August 31, 2017

o       High School (incoming 9th and 10th graders): July 31, 2017

o       Submission of all enrollment requirements must be received by the appropriate deadline(s) above or the application will be waitlisted.

o       Families are encouraged to enroll their students as soon as possible before the start of school on August 7, 2017 so that students may be registered for their classes at the start of the school year. Earlier enrollment also allows us to  include students in our orientation activities.
